David Miguel Estrada
Biography

Playwright David Miguel Estrada has had seven New York productions of his plays including his most recent, "God, Man, & Stan" which was staged in Hollywood's Theatre Row.


The son of an Army Officer and a stage actress, David Miguel is the youngest of a theatrical family who have all had plays produced in New York. The San Antonio Current calls them "extravagantly talented" while Joey Reynolds of the nationally-syndicated WOR Radio raves "Don't mess with that family!"  NewYorkCool.com writes, "Estrada is multi-talented."


After graduating from Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Estrada earned a degree in Writing, Acting, & Directing for Theater/Film at the College of Santa Fe. Estrada has studied with Academy Award-winning screenwriter Christopher DeVore "Frances," Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Wacks "Pow-Wow Highway," and Tony Award-Winner Moises Kaufman "The Laramie Project."

His plays "You Ain't No Johnny Cash,""The Yale Diaries," "Long Time Comin," and "God, Man, & Stan" are in the process of being published by Desert Road Publishing.

The writer-actor-director currently resides in Hollywood, California.

David Miguel's first play "You Ain't No Johnny Cash" premiered at the Producer's Club II in New York City in February 2004.  Since then, he has gone on to write ten plays and five screenplays, while acting in various stage plays and independent films.


Acting credits include  Saturday Night Live, Grey's Anatomy, and World's Astonishing News!  He also had the pleasure of performing his Spalding Gray- inspired piece Reflections at Lincoln Center.


New York directing credits include his own plays, the touring one-man shows of his brother, Jade Esteban Estrada, Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, Giovanni Affinito's Second Sunday in May, Jen Emma Hertel's Being, and countless other stage shows.


Estrada is currently working on numerous plays including Runnin' On Empty and The Life & Dubious Times of George Dubya Bush.  Screenplays in the works include John Wilkes Booth & The Assassination of a President and an Untitled Horror Film.
